Welcome!
Welcome to the Sempre Violin Studio - where every person has the talent to play
the violin. The Sempre Violin Studio
bases its philosophy on the study of Dr. Shinichi Suzuki and his Talent
Education program. Sempre Violin Studio
believes that through the study of the violin a person can accomplish an aim
even higher than musical ability: noble character. My goal is to help your
child become a noble person through the nurturing avenues of music and
consistent self-discipline. Because learning to play an instrument is hard
work, it is rewarding as well as fun.
How does the Sempre Violin Studio Function?
Each violin student in the Sempre Violin studio will receive
unique instruction to fit his personal needs. However, the general structure of the studio is comprised of
several basic elements:
- The weekly lesson, 30-60 minutes each.
- Six home practice sessions per week, with parent serving as home teacher.
- 1 group lesson per month.
- Instruction in classical repertoire, fiddle music, and music theory.
The Suzuki Method
Early Music Instruction—Students as young as 3 or 4 are encouraged to begin lessons.
Several learning games are incorporated to create a fun and stimulating
experience.
Language Approach—Students learn to play the violin in the same way they learn to speak. Music is absorbed by the students through listening and repetition exercises.
Parental Role—Students need parental assistance and encouragement to experience musical success. The parent serves as the "teacher" between lessons.
Musical Ability—Each and every student, of any age, has the ability to succeed in music and benefit from music participation.
